Jabra SP700 (Bluetooth
Speakerphone)
The Device:
The unit itself is a slim line
device which is ideal for discreet
use. It is designed to slide onto
your sun visor and it has a clip on
the back that allows you to do that.
The clip leaves no lasting marks on
the visor however it is not really
possible so use the sun visor with
the device attached. |

Features:
Bluetooth connectivity, I had no
problem getting it to connect to my phone.
It automatically starts in pairing mode
until it is paired with a handset and how to
pair is well explained in the instruction
manual. There is also an automatic speech
confirmation that the unit is paired.
Call Clarity, There is a certain amount
of filtering on the microphone. It is
however obvious that you are in the car due
to a certain level of background noise, but
it does cut out major noises for example the
radio. The speakerphone does provide
reasonable clarity from its speaker but a
noise cancelling headset might be better.
FM Transmitter, the transmitter means
that if you tune your radio to the frequency
specified by the unit you can:
- Conduct your calls through the
stereo
- If you have music on your phone it
is possible to play that through the
device and then onto the radio.
You can change the frequency that the
device transmits at by pressing the
volume controls. This is important
because the device will not work
properly unless it is on a clear
frequency. I found that the music sound
quality when played through the radio
wasn’t that great, but it was fine on a
phone call. Buttons, these are
very easy to use and they provide all
the functionality that you could need.
Charging, there is a USB charger
and an in-car charger. The in-car
charger uses the USB charger as its
base. The unit is unlikely to ever go
flat due to the long standby and talk
time of 200hrs and 14hrs respectively.
Other Features, these include a
voice which announces the number of an
inbound call; the same voice also tells
you when you have done something major,
for instance turning it off.
Overview:
A neat speakerphone with good
interface and functionality |
