| Are
You 'Safe' From Sound? |
|
In April 2006 the 'Control of Noise at Work
Regulations 2005' became law. Companies are now
required to protect their staff, by ensuring that
they are not exposed to any more than an average
noise exposure of 85dB throughout the working day.
Compliance with these regulations means that you
will be safe from prosecution by the Health and
Safety Executive.
For more information from the Health & Safety
Executive on what the 'Control of Noise at Work
Regulations 2005' mean to you click on the following

| Acoustic shock syndrome is an
equally important issue and one which is frequently
covered by devices that control noise exposure. All
'call centre' headsets that comply with CE
guidelines have some safety cut-outs built into
them, but there is a case to do more to safeguard
you and your staff. More background information on
Acoustic Shock can be found at
www.hse.gov.uk/noise/acoustic.htm |
What can you do to
safeguard you and your staff? |
There
are various devices available. Which you choose will
depend on what level of protection you feel that you
need. So, how do you work out what you do need?
At last we have a device that can tell you - The
Soundshield with Soundstat noise dosimetry software.
The Soundshield 3G 7100ST captures and records a
headset user's exposure to sound for up to a 3 month
period. These statistics are then downloaded to an
excel spreadsheet for detailed analysis. This is a
very powerful tool with widespread applications for
all headset users. If you think that you would like
to know exactly what noise levels you and your staff
are being exposed to then call us on 0844 477 1622
for a trial or
email us. (Click

To tackle the issue of noise exposure, Plantronics,
Jabra and Sennheiser all offer amplifier units which
can provide you with acoustic shock protection and
noise exposure control. Jabra have also recently
developed a 'limiter' cable as an inexpensive
solution to the problem. Indeed if you order a Jabra
GN2100 or GN2000 noise cancelling headset before
Christmas, the limiter cable is £14.95 compared to
an RSP of £49.95 (All prices Ex VAT) |

Just to say Thank You
Erika Raymond and Christine King, who manage the GN
Repair desk, received a complimentary box of Lavazza
coffee as a thank you from one of their repair
customers, Rick Tomsett from Pencarrie. |
Here's what he had to
say;
The headset arrived this morning - it was on my
desk when I got to work. I am very impressed,
considering that I placed the order yesterday
afternoon.
Once again you and Communications Solutions UK have
come up trumps! It is refreshing to get such a high
level of customer services from a supplier.
Regards, Rick.Left to right -
