Merry Christmas
Thank you

It’s Christmas time again, the year has flown by and Communications Solutions UK would like to thank all our customers for your custom and loyalty during 2006.

We appreciate your business and do not take it for granted, thank you!

Again at Communications Solutions UK we do not want to take those who are less fortunate than ourselves for granted either.

So this year we are making a donation to a charity that is close to our hearts. The NSPCC (see "On a serious note" below).

The donation we have made is instead of sending cards and gifts to our customers, and we thank you for helping us to help those that need our help.

Do enjoy the festive frivolity that follows. Hopefully at least some of the Christmas cracker' jokes will be new to you!

May we take this opportunity to wish you and your families a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.

From all at Communications Solutions UK.

Three wise women Santa
First Woman:

You know, when I hear that carol about "We Three Kings" and stories about the Three Wise Men who visited the baby Jesus Christ, I often wonder what would have happened had they been three wise women.

Second Woman:

I'll tell you what. For a start they would have arrived on time, mainly because they would have the intelligence to ask for directions along the way. They would have helped to deliver the baby, cleaned and tidied up the stable and made a meal for Joseph and Mary. Above all, they would have taken the trouble to bring along some really useful and practical gifts.

With apologies to Fairpack customers!

Riding the favourite at Cheltenham, a jockey was well ahead of the field. Suddenly he was hit on the head by a turkey and a string of sausages. He managed to keep control of his mount and pulled back into the lead, only to be struck by a box of Christmas crackers and a dozen mince pies as he went over the last fence. With great skill he managed to steer the horse to the front of the field once more when, on the run in, he was struck on the head by a bottle of sherry and a Christmas pudding. Thus distracted, he succeeded in coming only second, but immediately went to the stewards to complain that he had been seriously hampered

On a serious note.....
It's Christmas, like it or not, politically correct or not, it's on us again. It's also often said that Christmas is a time for children and we have to agree! However there are some children who may not enjoy this time of year quite as much as they should, therefore give just a little thought to helping out the people who are trying to help. Support the NSPCC

The NSPCC

The London Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1884 and changed its name to The National Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) in 1889 .

Its aim then was to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse.

Today, the NSPCC looks very different but its purpose remains the same: to end cruelty to children.

The NSPCC's work

  • They have 177 community-based projects and run the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands.
  • Most of their work is with children, young people and their families.
  • They also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people.

Their aim

To see a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. To do this, they have four objectives:

  • To mobilise everyone to take action to end child cruelty.
  • To give children the help, support and environment they need to stay safe.
  • To find ways of working with communities to keep children safe from cruelty.
  • To be, and be seen as, someone to turn to for children and young people.
Childline So how can you help?

On a personal level why not consider joining the NSPCC's Full Stop scheme? On a corporate level why not consider becoming a partner and do something positive?

Go see the NSPCC's website for full details: www.nspcc.org.uk

....go on! You know it makes sense...

We would welcome contributions or suggestions for other news worthy items. Equally we invite you to use this newsletter as a forum to discuss important issues, please email us at info@com-solutions.co.uk  with your comments and suggestions.
